With just a few days to go before the end of my internship at Framestore, I was brought onto this project after my first mentor from Wonka project left. I helped the teams with completing the final pixels on the night assault sequence. My task was to make Atlanta - where the sequence was shot - into Washington.

This involved cutting out skyscrapers making them shorter, removing brand logos on top, cleaning up the sky and making it darker due to a lot of diffuse light over the sky from the original buildings which were very tall.

To do so, I had to use extensive techniques to get rotoscoping several shapes on characters as well as some spots behind in the foreground mainly with CopyCat to keep them isolated and locked before creating the cards and doing those camera projections on everything that needed to be changed, while paying attention to parallax as some shots were filmed in a tracking shot.

(*) The initial stage in the 2D pipeline, focusing on technical assembly and verification of all elements before creative compositing.
(**) Element Complete, the second milestone after the comp block, where a shot’s layout is technically approved for high-resolution creative compositing.
